Abstract/Summary

Report on a geophysical survey conducted on around 40ha. of land on the route of the proposed Grantham Southern Relief Road to inform its construction. A group of ditch- and pit-like remains probably associated with the Romano-British settlement of Saltersford were identified. Some more isolated features were also noted, including part of a probable ring ditch at the western edge of the survey area and several small clusters of probable pits in the centre of the route. A triangular enclosure with an apparent opening in its southwest side was also identified.
