Description

Following earlier schemes (ELI14430-34) of geophysical survey and a trial trenching evaluation as part of a wider scheme of works involving mineral extraction permissions at a potential quarry site at Denton, on the Welby Estate, a further scheme of geophysics was undertaken to the southeast of the existing sites. An enclosure along with ditches and a pit alignment of probable later prehistoric date, and a possible ring ditch or round barrow southwest of a known, Scheduled barrow, and a potential Romano-British farmstead were recorded. {1}
