Full Description

Late 18th century cottage located off Barff Road. Built of coursed rubble with ashlar quoins, and has a pantile ridge roof with 2 brick gable stacks. Of three bays and two storeys. For the full description and the legal address of these listed buildings please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1} Originally built as a working farm building in the late 18th century, Norman Hay Farm Cottage was converted to residential use in the 19th century. Errors made in correctly locating this property in the original listing meant that the intended structure was never managed as a listed building. Norman Hay Farm Cottage was extensively remodelled and extended in c.1992, compromising its historic integrity and special interest. It was decided that the building no longer met the criteria for listing, and the building was subsequently de-listed. {2}{3}
