Full Description
THE RAILWAY OFFICE AT ROPEWALK WAS BUILT AT THE SAME TIME AS THE ADJACENT GREAT CENTRAL WAREHOUSE (C.1907). IT CONTINUED IN USE AS RAILWAY OFFICE UNTIL JANUARY 1995, AND NOW FORMS PART OF THE LINCOLN UNIVERSITY SITE. IT IS A RED BRICK ENGLISH BOND BUILDING, TWO-STOREYED, WITH A SLATE ROOF. IT HAS EBGINEERING BRICK STRING COURSE AND WINDOW ARCHES. MATCHES ADJACENT GREAT CENTRAL WAREHOUSE. {1}
