IT IS NOT KNOWN WHEN THIS BRIDGE WAS BUILT, BUT IT MAY HAVE BEEN C.1900. THE BRIDGE WAS REPLACED IN C.1993 WHEN ADJACENT MAIN RAILWAY BRIDGE WAS REPLACED. CURRENTLY FORMS PART OF THE LINCOLNS UNIVERSITY SITE WITH FURTHER ALTERATIONS LIKELY AS IT NOW FORMS PART OF THE ROAD BRIDGE TO THE UNIVERSITY SITE. IT WAS A CAST IRON LIFTING BRIDGE, 8 FEET WIDE AND 20 FEET LONG OVER THE WITHAM CLOSE TO THE BRAYFORD RAIL BRIDGE ON THE SIDING TO THE GRAIN WAREHOUSE. AT THE TIME OF THE SURVEY (C.1982) THE HAND WIND GEAR IN SITU. THERE IS NO MAKER'S NAME. THE RAILINGS ON THE BRIDGE WERE POST 1923. {1}
