Full Description

THE SETTLEMENT REMAINS OF THORNTON LE MOOR WERE DESTROYED IN 1964. IT HAD A MINIMUM POPULATION IN 1086 OF 18. AT TF051963 WHERE THE EARTHWORKS WERE DESTROYED MUCH POTTERY INCLUDING SAXON HANDMADE, LINCOLN AND TORKSEY WARES, AND SHELLY RIMS OF THE C8-C9 WERE FOUND. THERE IS PRE- CONQUEST SCULPTURE IN THE CHURCH. {1}
