Description

Three trial trenches were excavated at the former station site in advance of re-development. A remediation trench was also monitored. Remains of the Carmelite friary and the church of St Edward the Martyr were uncovered, as were Roman and early medieval remains. {1}{2} The evaluation was recommended by a prior desk based assessment. {3}
