Description
An archaeological watching brief was conducted during the excavation of geotechnical pits on land at the former Anchor Street Works, Anchor Street, Lincoln. The watching brief required the monitoring of 24 machine-excavated geotechnical trial pits (nominally 2m long and 0.60m wide). Trench depth varied upon the extent of post-19th century deposits. Six boreholes also formed part of the geotechnical investigation, although these were not monitored during the watching brief {1} {2}
