Description

After a 2011 survey (ELI12873) an additional scheme of geophysical magnetometry survey was undertaken in 2018 in advance of a quarry extension at Ropsley Quarry to the immediate north of the 2011 area. The results were contiguous to the 2011 survey with several linear features recorded which correlate with cropmarks. The route of King Street Roman road was also recorded along with possible former enclosures or trackways. Cropmark ring ditches were not recorded in the survey, which may suggest the below ground remains have been damaged. {1}
