Description

A programme of archaeological recording was conducted to inform proposed residential development on land at Sudbrooke Park. The investigation recorded features relating to the creation of the 18th century parkland and its development over time, including a variety of former pond and garden structures, along with the remains of the demolished Sudbrooke House. Also recorded were the extensive remains of a military camp, reflecting the change of use of the parkland during the Second World War. {1}
