Description

57 trial trenches were excavated on land adjacent to the A1 at Gonerby Moor, Great Gonerby, prior to the creation of a new road junction. The evalaution was conducted in two phases, in May 2004 and September 2006, and revealed an Iron Age ditch and gullies, two Roman ditches, and undated gullies and postholes. Finds recovered included a hammerstone and Iron Age and Roman pottery sherds. {1}{2}
