Abstract/Summary

Report on a magnetometry survey conducted on land to the east of Sleaford Road, Metheringham, to inform the proposed construction of a new residential development. Two possible rectilinear enclosures were identified. The larger enclosure to the west was north-south aligned, and had a series of smaller possible enclosures emerging from its southern end. A pair of parallel linear anomalies at the western edge of the survey area were interpreted as a potential trackway or palaeochannel. Other weak magnetic readings identified across the survey area may represent isolated ditch and pit features.
