Full Description
An archaeological excavation was undertaken by Pre-Construct Archaeology Services in September to November 2010 on land at Hall Lane, Stickney prior to residential development. Area 2 revealed a series of pits, linear features and gullies. Middle Saxon to early medieval pottery including Stamford ware, animal bone, part of a pair of copper alloy tweezers dating from the 7th to 9th centuries, possible iron working slag and an antler comb dating from the 9th to 10th centuries was found within some of the features. {1}{2}
