Full Description

An archaeological excavation was undertaken by Pre-Construct Archaeology Services in September to November 2010 on land at Hall Lane, Stickney prior to residential development. Area 1 revealed a series of pits, two small features, a small linear feature, a possible post hole and a possible timber structure. Many of the pits contained medieval pottery including Lincoln glazed ware, shelly ware, Stamford ware and Toynton ware, flat tile, handmade brick and animal bone. Some of the pits contained residual middle to late Saxon pottery. {1}{2}
