PRN 38935 The war memorial was erected in 1919. It was designed by Wilfrid Bond and sculpted by Messrs Streather and Winn of Grantham. It was paid for by public subscription. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1}{2} Great Gonerby war memorial commemorates those who died in the First World War and the Second World War. The memorial stands in the south-western corner of St Sebastian's churchyard, adjacent to the entrance from Grantham Road. The memorial is a twenty feet (six metres) tall tapering octagonal shaft sitting on a pedestal and two-stepped base surmounted with an ornate Latin cross. The memorial is made from Clipsham stone and was unveiled in 1919. {3}
