Full Description

Grade II listed war memorial, dating from about 1918 and by Reginald Blomfield. It is limestone ashlar dressings with three octagonal steps inscribed with: 'R.I.P. To the Glory of God and in Memory of the sons of the parish who fell in the Great War. 1914-1918. Their names are recorded in the Church.'. For the full description of this listed building please refer to the National Heritage List for England. {1} Morton war memorial commemorates those who died in the First World War and was erected in 1920. The memorial stands in the churchyard of St John the Baptist's Church at a height of eighteen feet (five and a half metres). It consists of a calvary cross standing on three octagonal steps. {2}
