Full Description
Grade II listed war memorial, dating from about 1918 and by Reginald Blomfield. It is limestone ashlar dressings with three octagonal steps inscribed with: 'R.I.P. To the Glory of God and in Memory of the sons of the parish who fell in the Great War. 1914-1918. Their names are recorded in the Church.'. Morton war memorial commemorates those who died in the First World War and was erected in 1920. The memorial stands in the churchyard of St John the Baptist's Church at a height of eighteen feet (five and a half metres). It consists of a calvary cross standing on three octagonal steps. {2}
