Description
MORTON STATION ROAD TF 0824-0924 (north side) 9/168 War Memorial G.V. II War memorial. c.1918 by Reginald Blomfield. Limestone ashlar. 3 octagonal steps inscribed with: "R.I.P. To the Glory of God and in Memory of the sons of the parish who fell in the Great War. 1914-1918. Their names are recorded in the Church." Octagonal plinth with moulded base and octagonal shaft with acanthus leaf decoration around the base. Moulded cap and frieze of quatrefoils and battlements. Gabled crucifixion with military saint on east side. Listing NGR: TF0980224005
