Full Description

Grade II listed lychgate, dating from about 1919. It is wood and ashlar. For the full description of this listed building please refer to the National Heritage List for England. {1} The lych-gate at the far north-western corner of St Mary's Church churchyard is Tydd St Mary's war memorial. Erected in 1921, the gate features ashlar walls with chamfered plinths and moulded copings supporting a dark stained oak framework and a gabled plain tiled roof. The memorial honours those who died in the First World War and the Second World War. The names are listed on stone tablets inset into the inner walls. {2}
