Full Description

This house appears to be associated with the old mill (PRN 45571) and is of possible 18th century date. It forms an attractive group with the mill and the bridge (PRN 45570) and is considered to be of townscape interest by the Louth Conservation Area Appraisal. {1} Mill House was assessed by English Heritage in May 2013, as part of the Louth Defined Area Survey. It was decided that the criteria for listing was not met in this instance, as the building is of modest architectural interest and has undergone significant alteration, extension and internal remodelling. Mill House appears to date to the mid to late 18th century, and was likely associated with the nearby early 18th century water mill to the immediate south-west. It is of rendered brick, with a pantile roof, and is of two bays and two storeys. The full length rear offshut appears to have been added in the 19th century, with further alterations occuring in the mid 20th and early 21st centuries. {2}{3}
