During geophysical survey and trial trenching in 1998, 1999 and 2000, several undated gullies and ditches were recorded.{1}{2}{3}{4}{5}{6}
A watching brief in on land situated on the southeast edge of Dunholme identified a number of undated features. A large north to south ditch was recorded and found to run parallel with a feature recorded in an earlier investigation. The ditch may be part of a field system or enclosure. An area of laid stone was found towards the middle of the site and may relate to buildings known to have existed in the vicinity. The foundation trenches for Plot 1 revealed a possible pond which remains undated. A feature interpreted as a possible pond or quarry pit was recorded during the 2001 watching brief (PRN 53156) some 80m north of this feature, but it seems unlikely that the two were physically related. {7}{8}
A watching brief centred on TF02697923 identified a number of undated features and deposits, including a large north to south ditch, a possible quarry pit and three east to west gullies.{9}{10}.
An archaeological watching brief and subsequent excavation in 2001 identified a number of undated ditches pits and post holes.{11}{12}
