Full Description

PRN 43957 An earthwork survey, a geophysical survey and a scheme of trial trenching recorded ridge and furrow and a plough headland thought to date to the 16th-18th centuries, and a scatter of 16th-18th century pottery. An earthwork platform which may relate to a building shown on the 1907 Ordnance Survey map had a rough edge formed of small and larger pieces of limestone and rounded pebbles. The ridge and furrow was divided into two areas by an east/west channel and a north/south boundary observed on the 1907 OS map further subdivided the land.{1}{2} During an excavation and a watching brief, a scatter of 18th to 19th century pottery was recorded.{3}{4}
