The last portion of the wall that remained standing fell in 1962. {1} Pottery dating from the 13th to the 16th century was found on the surface of the field to the west of the priory site, by Mrs E. Ballard in 1965. {6}{11}{12} A surface collection of medieval pottery and tiles was made by Andrew White in 1976 from the site of the priory. The site was under plough in the area between the moats. {6}{7}{8} For a detailed description see Paul Everson's book. {10} Further sources are John East aerial photograph, Pre-Viking Lindsey, p.114, a mention in Lincolnshire History and Archaeology, vol.2 p.49, and correspondence in the parish file.
