Full Description

The site of a medieval monastic grange may be marked by the farm called 'The Grange' at Ingham, and by 'Grange Lane' leading to it. Bullington Priory was granted the advowson of Ingham Church and all the lands of William de Botiller in the mid 13th century, which it ran as a grange until the dissolution. The holding apparently continued in secular hands. 'The Grange' lies within the old enclosures of 1769-70 and the monastic land may account for the very large area of vacant old enclosure mapped then at the east end of the village. {1}{2}
