Full Description
St. Peter's church is Georgian (faculty dated 1737) with a west tower, nave and chancel. In the west wall of the tower is a small Norman tympanum (see PRN 50849). {1}

During archaeological monitoring of the excavations for an extension and drainage ditches in February and march 2009, Pre-Construct Archaeological Services revealed evidence of the rebuilding of the nave which dates from 1892, the tower in 1737 and medieval fabric of the church. Medieval pottery, ridge tile, middle Saxon pottery and an earlier construction boundary, which predates the existing church was also found. {3}{4}
