Full Description

EVALUATION OF LAND TO NORTH OF STENIGOT RESERVOIR IN ADVANCE OF A RESERVOIR EXTENSION IDENTIFIED A NUMBER OF LINEAR FEATURES FROM A GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY. SOME OF THESE WERE IDENTIFIED AS DITCHES AND WERE EXCAVATED DURING WORK ON THE ADJACENT PIPELINE BUT NO EVIDENCE FOR THEIR DATE OR PURPOSE WAS FOUND AT THAT TIME. {2} THE LATER GEOPHYSICAL REPORT SUGGESTS THAT THESE FEATURES PREDATE THE BRONZE AGE RING DITCH (PRN 43686) AT THIS LOCATION AND WOULD APPEAR TO BE THE REMAINS OF A RECTILINEAR FIELD SYSTEM PERHAPS OF NEOLITHIC DATE. {1}{3}{4}
