Full Description
DURING A WATCHING BRIEF ON THE ROUTE OF A DITCH WAS IDENTIFIED RUNNING NNE TO SSW WITH A BANK TO THE EAST AND PERHAPS A FENCELINE. THE DITCH CONTAINED BRONZE AGE POTTERY. THE DITCH WAS PROBABLY PREHISTORIC, IN USE AFTER THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE EXTANT BARROW (PRN 43686). ITS FUNCTION IS NOT KNOWN BUT IT BISECTS THE GROUND BETWEEN TWO BARROWS (PRN 43624). A MEDIEVAL BUCKLE WAS FOUND IN THE TOP FILL OF THE DITCH (PRN 43688)
