Full Description

An aerial photograph shows a linear ditch system and enclosures at Tattershall Thorpe, interpreted as a possible field system (need to see photograph). {1}{2}{3}{4} Many Bronze Age finds are known from this area, including swords and spearheads, see cross references. Many of the cropmark ditches were examined in a trial trench evaluation carried out in 2007 and 2008. Although some of the features appear to relate to an area of Roman occupation (see PRN 41038), many of the cropmarks were undated. The undated features are concentrated to the north of the Roman site, on a slightly different orientation, which may indicate a difference in chronology. {5}{6}
