ABOUT 900 YARDS TO THE SOUTH OF PRN 33479 (AT APPROXIMATELY TF10950970) A NUMBER OF LARGE PITS 16' LONG AND BELIEVED TO BE PROBABLY ROMAN GRAVEL PITS WERE OBSERVED BY W G SIMPSON DURING THE LAYING OF A PIPELINE IN 1962.{1}~ SOME POTTERY, TILE, GLASS, BRONZE AND OYSTER SHELLS WERE ALSO FOUND. {2}
