Full Description

Algarkirk and Sutterton Railway Station was opened in October 1848, and was closed to all traffic in 1961. The station was on the Great Northern Railway's Lincolnshire Loop line. The station straddles the Algarkirk and Sutterton parish boundary, although most of the station buildings were in Sutterton parish. The main line was double tracked, with five sidings. The platforms were removed in c.1966. The main station building (PRN14583) and former good shed (PRN14584) are still extant, although the level crossing gate house (PRN14585) and signal box (PRN14586) were demolished at some point before the Boston to Algarkirk Diversion road was constructed in 1991. {1}{2}
