Full Description
The churchyard at All Saints' Church is depicted on the 2nd edition 25" Ordnance Survey County Series map. It likely dates to at least the 14th century, when the current church it serves was built (see MLI22221). {1}
During a watching brief on cable trenches in the churchyard, two features were recorded. An undated brick structure was thought to be the foundations of a tomb chest. A linear feature, also undated, corresponded in position to a path across the churchyard shown on a depiction of the church dated 1836. A scatter of 14th to early 20th century pottery and two 17th to 18th century clay pipe stems were also recovered. {2}{3}
