Full Description
An assemblage of Roman material was recovered from a levelling deposit of unknown date on land at 12 Ermine Street, Ancaster, during trial trenching in October 2003. The assemblage included pottery, animal bone, wall plaster, tesserae, glass and tile. {1}{2}
The material recovered from this layer is almost certainly related to the Roman building located immediately to the north, revealed during the archaeological monitoring of groundworks in 2006 (see ELI14409 and MIL127395).
