Description
Two trial trenches were excavated on land at 12 Ermine Street, Ancaster, to inform the proposed demolition of a doctor's surgery and replacement with a residential property. A redeposited layer containing Roman material including pottery, tesserae, wall plaster and tile was encountered in both trenches. No other archaeologically significant features, deposits or finds were encountered. {1}{2}
