Full Description

Enclosure ditches and roundhouse of Late Iron Age date on land to the south of Witham Road, Woodhall Spa, encountered during trial trenching in September 2014 and open area excavation in July-August 2019. Late Iron Age pottery was recovered from the enclosure ditch and the drip gully of the round house. They are likely to be associated with the contemporary Iron Age settlement immediately to the southwest (MLI43238). A large quarry pit or watering hole to the northeast of this area, though undated, may also be contemporary with these features. {1}{2}{3}{4}
