Full Description

Traces of medieval ridge and furrow were recorded in this location in November 2018, during magnetometry survey of land at Hoop Lane Farm. The remains were identified as a series of parallel linear magnetic anomalies, aligned on a roughly south-west to north-east axis. {1} The presence of medieval ridge and furrow in this location was confirmed in April 2019, during trial trenching conducted to inform proposed development on land at Hoop Lane Farm. The investigated furrows were relatively narrow and shallow, having an irregular U-shaped profile. {2}{3}
