Description

The foundation trenches for a building extension were machine-excavated without the attendance of an archaeologist. The trenches of the building were filled with concrete. An archaeologist was contacted by the owner and a search of the spoiheap was undertaken. The main spoilheap was trowel sampled over most of its surface. Two small heaps of mainly topsoil were randomed sieved. A wide range of post medieval artefacts was retrieved.{1}
