Description

Trial trenching was carried out prior to construction of a single residential property. A single trench measuring 15m by 1.6m was excavated within the building footprint, in order to assess the archaeological resource and the impact of development. The trench was initially intended to be positioned north/south, but the presence of large amounts of building rubble and garden waste and a neighbouring property boundary made this impractical. The trench was therefore turned 90 degrees.{1}
