Full Description
PRN 54820
During trial trenching in 2003, a curving alignment of roughly dressed limestone chunks were recorded resting on a burnt deposit. The area of burning appeared to relate to the stone alignment, as it marked a clear delineation between the area of burning to its north and east and an area flecked with yellow mortar fragments to the south. Although undated, the sealing subsoil layer contained a sherd of thirteenth century pottery; however, this may be residual or intrusive.{1}{2}
