Description

Trial trenching was undertaken following a desk-based assessment (ELI14404) and geophysical survey (ELI14405) in advance of a proposed quarry extension, with fieldwork running from December 2017 to April 2018 in four phases. Archaeologically significant settlement activity was recorded ranging in date from the Romano-British period, to Anglo Saxon, along with late medieval to early post-medieval ridge and furrow. {1}{2}
