Title Stage III: Archaeological Mitigation: Archaeological Monitoring and Recording of House Plots 1-3 on Land off Mill Lane, Scamblesby
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2017

Abstract/Summary

Archive for a programme of archaeological monitoring and recording conducted during the groundworks for three new residential properties on land off Mill Lane, Scamblesby. As in the previous trial trenching evaluation (see ELI14727), a series of undated ditches and gullies was encountered, though none were excavated during this phase of works. It was suggested that these may have formed a network of drainage ditches or leats feeding into the moat to the northeast. Three undated pits were also revealed but not excavated.
