Description

A programme of archaeological monitoring and recording was conducted during the groundworks for three new residential properties on land off Mill Lane, Scamblesby. As in the previous trial trenching evaluation (see ELI14727), a series of undated ditches and gullies was encountered, though none were excavated during this phase of works. It was suggested that these may have formed a network of drainage ditches or leats feeding into the moat to the northeast. Three undated pits were also revealed but not excavated. {1}{2}
