Abstract/Summary

Report on an archaeological excavation conducted on land at Poplar Farm, Grantham, prior to the proposed development of a new primary school. A possible Saxon grubenhaus was excavated, from which an assembalge of 5th to 8th century pottery was recovered. Two Prehistoric pits, a single Roman pit, and a large number of undated features including a possible oven and flue were also recorded. 216 Prehistoric flints, including a concentrated scatter of mostly Mesolithic-Early Neolithic date, were recovered from the site.
