Report on a programme of archaeological evaluation comprising twenty trial trenches were excavated on land at South Witham Quarry to inform a proposed quarry expansion. A curvilinear ditch was encountered matching an anomaly interpreted as a ring ditch in an earlier programme of geophysical survey (see ELI10672). A ditch and a number of pits of possible Iron Age data and an undated ditch were also encountered.
