Description

The archive on seven trial trenches that were excavated as part of an evaluation programme on land South of Legsby Road, Market Rasen, to determine the archaeological potential prior to a residential development on the site. Archaeological remains were encountered in five of the seven trenches. The majority of these remains were gullies, though a possible post-hole and sub-circular pit were uncovered. A single piece of modern pottery was found dfuring the evaluation. Most of the features were undated, due to limited finds recovered from the site, with the exception being a modern feature in Trench 7 and two gullies in Trench 2. The archaeological potential of this site was deemed to be very low as a result of the excavation.
