Abstract/Summary

Archive for the excavation of sixteen trial trenches, dug to inform proposed residential development on land to the north of Towngate East, east of Peterborough Road and south of Northfield Road, Market Deeping. One pit dated to the Bronze Age and three undated ditches were encountered. At the eastern edge of the site, evidence was found of a possible ploughed-out bank of the adjacent Car Dyke. The presence of east-west aligned ridge and furrow and a backfilled post-medieval pond were also noted.
