Full Description
A curvilinear feature was identified in this location in May 2013, during magnetometry survey of land between Towngate East, Peterborough Road and Northfield Road, Market Deeping. It was thought to represent an enclosure ditch of possible late prehistoric or Romano-British date. {1}
A pair of undated ditches were excavated at this location during follow-up trial trenching in October 2013. One of the ditches was truncated by a Medieval or post-Medieval furrow. Unfortunately, the possible return of the curvilinear was not exposed. {2}{3}
