Abstract/Summary
Archive for a historic building survey undertaken to inform proposed conversion to domestic use of a farm building complex forming the working part of Bridge Farm, Sutton Bridge. The surveyed buildings comprised five ranges of outbuildings; four north-south aligned ranges bonded to an east-west aligned range. The surviving buildings are predominantly 19th century in date with 20th century additions, and include stable blocks, barns, animal stalls, and general storage buildings. A series of boundary walls divide the space between the ranges into a number of courtyards or crewyards, These appear to be a mix of original 19th century walls and 20th century additions or replacements. All of the surveyed buildings are of red brick construction, with a mix of gabled and hipped roofs of slate, pantile, or corrugated metal.
