Description

Archive for the programme of archaeological monitoring and recording conducted during the construction of a new residential dwelling on land at Stocks Lane, Faldingworth in September 2016. Two ditches were identified, the first of which was a curving north-south aligned ditch which contained no datable material. The second ditch was to the immediate east of the first, following the same north-south alignment. This was also undated. Both of the ditches were truncated to the north by a large substantial pit. Its lower fill contained 13th-15th century pottery, and its upper fill contained a sherd of 13th-14th century pottery. No further archaeological features were identified.
