Abstract/Summary

Archive for the excavation of two trial trenches and a test pit, dug to inform the proposed construction of new residential properties on the site of the former Bull and Chain Public House, 7 Langworthgate, Lincoln. The remains of stone walls, representing the partial footprint of a large medieval building, as well as floor surfaces and a substantial stone lined privy, were uncovered and recorded. Redeposited artefacts spanning the Roman to the medieval period were found during the excavations, as well as a probable Anglo-Saxon cremation burial.
