Title Land at Witham Road, Woodhall Spa
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2006

Abstract/Summary

Archive for the excavation of five trial trenches, dug to inform proposed residential development on land at Witham Road, Woodhall Spa. A number of early post-medieval features were recorded across the site, including the remains of a ditch and several pits. A quantity of predominantly 16th to 17th century pottery was recovered from these features, with a large proportion of the sherds showing significant flaws and imperfections, suggesting they represent wasters and seconds from local pottery production. A small number of additional pit and ditch features of uncertain date were also recorded.
