Abstract/Summary

Archive for the excavation of ten trial trenches, dug to inform the proposed construction of an eco-village on land at Manor Farm, Newton on Trent. A ditch and possible pit or ditch terminus were recorded in the north-eastern corner of the site. Significant quantities of Romano-British pottery, brick and tile were recovered from these features, along with carbonised plant remains typical of the main cereal crops of this period. A small quantity of redeposited Roman and medieval to early post-medieval pottery was also recovered from ploughsoil deposits across the site.
